Why You Should Switch From a Windows PC to a Mac - Reasons why I Choose Apple over Microsoft

Why you should choose Apple over Microsoft
Please note that this Hub is VERY pro Apple and bashes Microsoft products frequently.
I've had many products developed by both Apple and Microsoft. From my experiences I have come to conclude that Apple is well worth the fortune charged for their products. Not only are Apple products efficient and distinctly appealing to the eye, they are far more user friendly and "simpler" as Microsoft likes to claim about Windows 7. Apple products are very highly priced, but I'm here to tell you that investing in Apple products saves you money and time in the long run.
Apple's Mac OSX Operating System
A computers operating system is the whole visual interface and functionality of the computer. Windows is known to be very slow, especially after using a Mac for quite some time. Everything that comes with the Mac OSX is easy to use and find. The "finder" application searches for content that you are looking for instantly, but is rarely needed because of Mac's great organization. Locating files on a Windows computer takes an extraordinary amount of time and can't always seem to find the file you're looking for even though you know it exists.
One of the most noticeable differences between Microsoft Windows and Mac OSX is the load time. Even older Mac computers startup extremely fast. When my Macbook's Hardrive is nearly full I can still completely boot my computer in under a minute. Windows booting seems to take forever and once you're logged in you still have to wait for everything to load. OSX loads everything fast and you're ready to start computing as soon as your desktop is shown.
Updating Mac OSX is super fast and easy compared to Windows. You can set when your machine should check for updates as well as easily checking off which applications you want updated. Windows always shows urgent updates that aren't so urgent, but slow your computer down until completed.
When it comes to operating system upgrades, surprisingly Apple wins the most affordable award. When Microsoft releases a new Windows operating system you're required to pay full price which can be over $200.00 for the most basic version unless you recently purchased a computer before the release of a new operating system. Apple rarely releases new operating systems, but when they do they are extremely affordable and can be used on several machines. When Mac OSX Snow Leopard came out it was released for just $30.00 as an upgrade to the previous OSX Leopard. Although Snow Leopard wasn't a completely fresh operating system it still provided vital upgrades for a very reasonable price.
Microsoft's slogan for Windows 7, "Simpler" is very misleading to customers. Nothing about Microsoft is ever simple, especially Windows 7. Windows 7 directly "borrowed" features from Mac OSX, but still fail to incorporate the features in a simple fashion. Thousands of people continue to rant about how slow Windows 7 is and bugs that are still yet to be fixed.
Apple's Amazing Customer Support
The best benefit in my opinion by choosing Apple is not only the speed, but the outstanding customer support. The few times i've had to call Apple for customer service have been extremely fast and resolved within a few minutes.
The MANY times I've had to call Microsoft usually ended with no solution for the problems I encountered. Microsoft's support line is poorly set up and requires many button presses and different options. By the time you get to a live representative from Microsoft after spending 20 minutes on hold, you find out that the automated solutions to find the appropriate agent has nothing to do with your input. 9/10 times you can't even understand the rep you're talking to and they are simply flipping through a manual trying to find the phrase to say to help you. "Try unplugging your computer and plugging it back in," No shit.. basic trouble shooting never resolves problems you have to call about. You're always forwarded to another rep that you can't understand and is "going to resolve your problem," but end up putting you on hold and forwarding you to another useless rep.
I have no joke spent over 3 hours on a single call to Microsoft Support. I was put on hold 6 times, totaling 45 minutes.. just on hold. I spoke to 5 different "representatives" by the time the last one actually hung up on me after telling me information that I gathered hours before calling the support line. I spent over 3 hours to simply get a $20.00 refund that I still have yet to get.
Apple solved my problems without having to forward me to anyone and I could also tell that the Apple reps were 100% American with perfectly clear english.
Apple's Warranty and Replacement Support
Technology is always failing after a huge release, but Microsoft tries avoiding replacements as often as they can.
For example, my 2008 Macbook Pro was 2 years out of warranty and a year past the deadline for the screen replacement issued on my particular model. There was a problem with the graphics card and display setup that caused screens to stay black until fixed. I called Apple and they said they would still replace it for free, even though the deadline had passed and my warranty was expired. Apple sent a pre-paid box for me to ship my Macbook back. Within 48 hours I had received my box to return my Macbook, got a confirmation call about Apple receiving my Macbook, and it was delivered to my doorstep. I opened the box and laying on top was a full report of what Apple did. They even replaced my battery that was warped and only had about 45 minutes on a full charge, for free! If that's not outstanding, I don't know what is.
Microsoft had a problem with thousands of Xbox 360 consoles overheating and getting the "Red Ring of Death." They extended the warranty to fix these damaged consoles for 1 year. The RROD is still a problem but no longer covered by warranty. If you get the RROD, you have to pay for the shipping charges to send your Xbox back as well as a $50.00 service fee to get your console repaired. OUTRAGEOUS.
I have many friends and family members who have bought Microsoft products that break within a year and are not covered by warranty. By the time you have spend close to the same amount you would've on a mac, you have been through several slow computers and hours of wasted time on the phone.

No doubt that Windows 7 is fast but it's only faster than previous versions of Windows. Still, it is slower than Linux and Mac OS X. Problem is, the longer you use it, the slower it becomes.
I have become an Apple user for almost four months now. It took me this long because it's quite expensive, as you said in this hub. However, I don't believe that it's overpriced.
Nice hub!
