Product Announcement Highlights - About CES
For those of you who have no clue what CES is or don't know much about it, I'll give you a little background information. CES stands for "Consumer Electronic Show." The first show was held in New York City in June of 1967. The show is actually put on by the CEA (Consumer Electronics Association), which is basically a massive organization for consumer electronics tycoons. Members of the organization make up over $186 Billion in the Consumer Electronics Industry. The Consumer Electronic Shows is basically a massive gathering of companies that are considered the Rulers of Consumer Electronics. Any tech device or gadget most likely was first announced, demoed, or revealed at CES.
For example, in 1970, the first VCR was revealed at CES. 1981 revealed the CD Player and Camcorder. Digital media was demoed in 1990 followed by the ability to "burn" your own digital media in 1991. CES has always been a popular place for companies to announce their big plans. The 1990's is when the technology for consumer electronics began growing faster than people could imagine. CES was also the birth place of the DVD, HDTV, Xbox 360, Plasma TV's, HD Radio, Blu Rays, Media Streaming, OLED TV's, Tablet PC's, 3D Tv's, and much more.
CES is a big deal in the tech industry and has made or broke ideas and companies for almost 50 years.
