Get more from your used Games
Ever since home video game consoles hit the market, enthusiasts have complained about the price of the games. Developers spend millions on the development of spectacular games. To make a profit, the games have to be sold at a high price. The platform developer, such as Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo, also get a chunk of the game sale. When the PS3 and Xbox 360 were released, Sony and Microsoft actually loss money from every console sold. They made the money up from video game sales.
Stores that specialize in video game selling and reselling like Gamestop, became a hit for buying and selling used games and consoles. Today the internet has taken over and websites offer exchanges worth much more than the few dollars stores will give you for your used games. Game exchanges let you put your video games up for trade online, giving you credits that can be used equally in trading for more games.
How it Works
There are several different kinds of Game Exchanges, but the most effective is the point/credit systems.
After you create an account, you can search the game library and offer your games you're willing to get rid of for trade. You are then put in a que until your game is the next disc available. Once someone requests your game, you are given the shipping address and a quick shipping payment option. The shipping charges are usually only a few dollars, but the turnout is much better than selling your game to a store. Once the recipient has received the game, they confirm the exchange and you are credited with points/credits. Older games and more available games take longer to trade, but the time is usually worthwhile.
The exchange websites make their money off of not only ads, but exchange fee's. Most exchanges only charge $1.00 for each game that you trade. You are usually given a few starter trades that seals the deal for future use of their exchange. The average trade cost after shipping and the fee is usually around $4.00. In exchange, you get enough points/credits to get games that would be over $20.00 in stores like Gamestop.
Most of the Game exchanges also offer points/credits for sale. You pay a certain price for a certain number of points/credits. Buying points lets you get games much cheaper than buying them in stores. You can buy points, or use the points you get from trading in your games. When you want a game, you simply request for it and are instantly added to a que. Once you're the next person inline, you will receive a confirmation and the points are deducted from your account. Once you receive the game, you confirm it online and the seller receives the points. Game exchanges are great at controlling fraud and guarantee that you will have legitimate trades or a full refund.
I have belonged to several game exchangers for a few years, and I absolutely love them. They have saved me hundreds of dollars and allows me to do one of my favorite leisure activities at an affordable rate.
Game Exchanges
There are hundreds of game exchanges out there, some of which are scams. Some offer cash for your games, but the best overall value is to exchange your games for points. Points are worth much more than the cash you would receive if you sold your games to a reseller. Here's a list of some legit exchanges that I recommend in order by, in my opinion the best.
I prefer Goozex, and use it most often.
