Hidden Developer Additions

If you have ever played Halo, you know that Bungie developers like to hide things in their games for game enthusiasts exploration. From the glitches and "super bounces" in Halo 2, to the Dancing toolman in Halo 3, Bungie always finds a way to surprise fanatics. Halo: Reach has only been out for a few weeks now, but more "easter eggs," or hidden additions, have been found in Reach than their previous games.

Fans of the Halo storyline know that Master Chief was unknown when the humans attacked the covenant, which means the epic hero is not included in Reach. Chief may not be in the storyline, but the developers refused to keep him out of the game.

Hidden Master Chief

As of right now, Master Chief has been found twice throughout Halo: Reach.

1. On "The Pillar of Autumn" mission, go to the rally point bravo and destroy the covenant air ships. A cutscene will begin to play, which concludes the end of the game. You will see a giant shift blast off, followed by a shot from the the pelican. When the cutscene shows the view from inside the pelican, push your right thumb stick to the right. Bam! There's Master Chief frozen in his pod, which is how the first Halo game introduces him.

2. An un-rendered statue of Master Chief is found on the mission called "Lone Wolf," the short final mission. Play the mission for only a few seconds or until the cutscene is over, and end the game. Now go into Theatre mode and play the clip past the cutscene. Once the clip is past the cutscene, rewind the clip so the time says 0:00, then hit "b" to exit the theatre controls, and then "y" to free-roam the view finder. Go towards the right of the scenery, to the left side is where you actually play the mission. To your right you'll see what appears to be a floating island. Begin the journey over to the island. On this island, you will see two huge cranes. Between the two cranes is a gray platform. On the platform, you'll see a small figure. Get extremely close to the figure and you'll see the un-rendered Master Chief statue!

Covenant Rave Party

Yes, Bungie developers managed to hide a covenant rave party inside Halo: Reach!

To get to the party, start the campaign mission "New Alexandria." You must play the mission through until you get to the objective where it tells you to go to CLub Errera. You have to make sure your destination is set to the club before you continue on, otherwise the button required to press will not show up. The button is located east from the club. You will see a huge tower that glows orange. Just west of this tower is a series of "C" shaped tubing. Fly slow and land on the tubing. You will see a green dot flashing, and press the command button to "Open door." Go back to the club, and the covenant will be raving it up!

*Please note that when you arrive back at the club after flipping the switch, the gunners outside may still shoot at you, its ok to kill them. Once you're inside the club, the covenant wont attack you. If you attack them, you'll hear a disc scratch, and it will go back to normal play.

The First, but last Halo

Back in the 90's, Bungie released its first Halo game, which was only playable by Atari consoles, and had awful pixelated graphics. Halo first became widely popular in November of 2001, when Bungie released the first "Hi-tech" Halo game exclusively for the original Xbox. With the great success of Halo, Bungie decided to make a sequel, which was released just 3 years Halo. Halo 2 became the first widely played game over the Internet, which gave Microsoft an amazing start with Xbox Live. The years following the release of Bungie's final game in the Halo trilogy, many Halo enthusiasts demanded more. Bungie released their exclusive rights to the Halo name, and shortly followed Ensemble Studio's Halo Wars strategy game. Halo Wars took a whole new approach to the Halo storyline, but it never became a favored Halo game.

Still unsatisfied, Bungie decided to make an add-on to Halo 3, originally named "Halo: Recon," but later switched to Halo 3: ODST. ODST once again took a different approach to the storyline by not including the epic icon of MasterChief, but instead followed a crime scene investigation where you play as an Orbital Drop Shock Trooper (ODST).

Since the Halo storyline ended in Halo 3, Bungie decided to make a final Halo, which is Halo: Reach. Reach is a prequel to the first Halo, and introduces the plot for the storyline. Reach explains why the human race is attacking the covenant, which takes place on Planet Reach. Bungie confirmed that Halo: Reach is the last Halo game they will be making.
