Using Mac OSX already gives you a sleek unique design along with the most simple operating system, but an application called Candybar can make the interface of your mac even more special.

Candybar is an application developed by Panic, and they offer a free 15-day trial. The trial gives you pretty much all features for the 15 days, but limits you to 250 icons. The full version is $29.00, but well worth it for the features.

Candybar has a very easy to use interface to change just about anything on your Mac, all from this simple application. You can create your own icons and add them to your Candybar icon library, or add icons to your library from packs that you download on the internet. A cool feature that Candybar offers is importing icon sets. If you like someone's created icons, they may offer the full set for use. You simply import the set and select "use these icons." When you select to use the icons, all icons in that set will be assigned to its appropriate application.

Some users may only want to change certain icons. With Candybar, you can select a single icon to change by adding it to you library, then dragging over the previous icon you had set. You can easily change hundreds of icons just by dragging new images to replace the existing icon. If you want to use large high-resolution pictures, Candybar automatically sizes them down to be the proper icon size.

Along with the application icon manipulation, Candybar also features simple ways of changing more than just application icons. You can choose to change your sidebar icons in finder, as well as the appearance of your beloved dock. Download or create a new dock background, and simply drag it into place in Candybar. You can easily change your dock background, the dock spacers, and the active applications look and feel.

When you're ready to apply your changes, you simply click the button and Candybar will relaunch your dock and finder window. Please note that some changes require you to log out, but you'll be asked before doing so.
