Unofficial 2011 iPhone and iPad Accouncement
The season of Fall usually brings along the anticipation of a new generation of Apple's iPhone. On a typical year, Steve Jobs will give a Keynote presentation for what Apple plans for the year. The presentation comes in the winter of every year and announces Apple's products being released throughout the year. However, this year was different.
Steve Job's keynote presentation came and went without the announcement of the next iPhone and iPad, but instead, the new Macbook design and a demo of the July released OSX Lion. Rumors have spread throughout the web with dubbed "iPhone 5" pictures and an expected fall release based on the traditions of Apple product releases. All of the rumors had no evidence backing them, until now!
Just a few weeks ago, Apple's CFO, Peter Oppenheimer, strongly hinted a planned iPhone release for the third quarter of 2011. The news hit when Oppenheimer gave an earnings call for the third quarter this year. He explained how Apple experienced a 12% revenue decline, but predicts it will "drastically" go up during the fourth quarter of this year. Although Oppenheimer never used the words "iPhone," he quotes: "there is a lot going on in the fall with iOS 5 and iCloud,” and added that “future product transition that we will not talk about today.” This doesn't necessarily mean that the next generation of the iPhone and iPad will hit the market this fall, but based on sales and revenue, iPhone sales along with the iPad greatly boosts revenue over any other Apple products. The allusion to iCloud greatly backs the secret theory due to the support of Apple's mobile devices.
Reports from credible sources, such as AppleInsider, confirm that Apple WILL release the next iPhone by Mid-September or Early-October. Leaked photos and information came from the source Apple.Pro, when the China-Based Apple website posted pictures that seemed to be the real deal. After researching posts made by highly credible sources I found that if the evidence is legit, the next iPhone will hit stores by the end of this year.
My evidence is supported by an article that AppleInsider wrote about the pre-production of the new iPhone device. The information was said to have been received by an anonymous source from an iPhone parts manufacturer. The tip confirmed that Apple has already sent out a number of the "iPhone 5" devices to carrier providers for testing purposes. The iPhone's are said to have been shipped in highly secured lock boxes to representatives of major mobile carriers for the purposes of testing. AppleInsider also has unconfirmed claims that the new iPhone will begin pre-orders in September.
With the hype over iOS 5, Apple's next mobile operating system, and the newly added addition of iCloud greatly predicts the release of a new mobile phone. The name of the next iPhone is predicted the "iPhone 5," but no confirmations have been made. The clues hint at new Apple devices, not computers. Along with the next iPhone release, predictions are being made about a similar release for the next iPad with a similar design to the iPhone. The iPad also doesn't have a confirmed name, but predictions say it may be called the "iPad3," or the "iPad HD." Apple usually does everything by tradition. For example, every winter brings a new Keynote presentation announcing the spring Macbook release with a new iPhone release in the fall. If Apple continues by tradition you can expect the new devices to hit stores this fall.
