Android Tops iPhone OS
Android outdoes iPhone in web traffic
Admob.Com, which is the leading mobile advertiser, released its monthly report, and guess who's on top. Thats right, Android has officially passes the iPhone in mobile web traffic in the United States. In February 2010, the iPhone OS had 45% of the mobile users, while the Android OS had only 42%. Now that the March report has been released, Android has 46% and falling behind is the iPhone with only 39%.
The Android technology and market continues to grow, so it could become the new leader in mobile web for quite some time. Their app market has over 38,000 apps, and is continuing to grow towards Apples appstore of over 100,000 apps. Android released over 8000 apps over the duration of a month.
Admob is a growing mobile advertising platform that calculates estimated traffic based on a percentage of the ad impressions on a single mobile OS. As many of you probably already know, Android is the mobile operating system that was developed by Google Inc. It also just so happens that Admob is working on a regulatory approval to be owned by Google for a total of $750 Million.

This is interesting news indeed. Ever since I saw the HTC Hero come on the mobile market, I had the feeling Apple got its first serious competitor, and things with the Android OS is taking off it seems.
